At Heineken Vietnam's open office, employees have the freedom to choose their seating positions and work from different locations.

Heineken Vietnam's office is located within a four-sided high-rise building in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, adjacent to Me Linh Square, overlooking the Saigon River and Bach Dang Park. Every working day, the employees of Heineken Vietnam can admire the recently inaugurated Thu Thiem 2 Bridge or enjoy panoramic views of other areas of the city.

Over 300 employees work on three floors of the building, all designed with an open layout. Meeting rooms and workspaces surround the elevators. When walking through different work areas, one will return to the starting point. The space is entirely open, minimizing walls and partitions. Each department will have its own workspace, but employees won't have fixed seats. They are encouraged to work wherever they prefer. The office has plenty of open areas and shared spaces to facilitate this flexibility.

For employees who require a quiet and focused environment or need to attend important online meetings, there are several small meeting rooms. The Director's office is also an "open" space, which means that if the leaders are absent, any employee can use it to work or hold meetings. In some areas, desks can be adjusted in height, allowing employees to sit or stand and work flexibly.

Heineken Vietnam's new office also provides various spaces for employees to relax, rest, or engage in group activities. The bar and canteen areas with a view of the Saigon River and Thu Thiem Bridge can be transformed into flexible venues for parties, conferences, or gatherings for employees. Additionally, Heineken Vietnam dedicates ample space to employee well-being, including yoga rooms, sports facilities, and a room for nursing mothers to express milk while working.

A tour around the 18th-floor of Heineken workplace:

The open office design not only enhances interaction and connection among employees but also maximizes natural light, contributing to reduced energy consumption in the office. While Heineken's factories already use renewable energy sources, and recycle or reuse all waste and by-products, the Heineken Vietnam office also incorporates many decor elements made from recycled materials, supporting a sustainable and environmentally-conscious lifestyle that reflects the essence of a beer company. For example, desk legs are made from used beer crates, some room dividers utilize wood from shipping crates, and recycled beer bottles are used for decoration in various areas within the office.

Not only providing employees with a sense of freedom and comfort at the workplace, Heineken has implemented the Hybrid Work model for its office staff. Under this model, since the beginning of this year, Heineken Vietnam employees have the option to work in the office, at home, or remotely from any location. The company and departments have two fixed office workdays, and for the rest of the week, office employees have the flexibility to choose where they work.

Ms. Holly Bostock, Senior External Affairs Manager of Heineken Vietnam, stated that Heineken has had 31 years of successful production and business in Vietnam. However, the company still aims to be young, constantly renew itself, build a company and brands that are reputable and meaningful to partners.

"We started with innovations within ourselves - with our people and corporate culture. We built this office as a symbol of the enjoyment of life, care for people and the planet, and encouragement of innovation and change. We trust and empower our employees more - through the open office model and the Hybrid Work policy, starting with office staff," said Ms. Holly Bostock, emphasizing, "The open office model and flexible work policy also elevate our cooperative spirit, openness to creativity, and willingness to try new things, so we can continue to bring Vietnamese consumers valuable products and experiences."

During the Covid-19 period in 2021, all Heineken Vietnam office staff worked from home for nearly 6 months. Nevertheless, the company successfully launched two new products, Tiger Platinum wheat beer, and Edelweiss snow beer, with creative marketing and sales campaigns. Both products were warmly welcomed by Vietnamese consumers. Tiger Platinum also received two gold and one silver award for creative elements in the marketing campaign at the Smarties Vietnam Awards organized by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) in 2021.
